Icing & Ink is pleased to announce that we have formed a partnership with Linda Stahl of Linda Stahl Designs.   All of our invitations are now custom designed exclusively for icing & ink by Linda. Linda is a graphic designer who has studied painting, drawing, calligraphy and graphic arts for over 10 years. She started concentrating her efforts in graphic art in 2004. She now creates custom cards, designs logos and does freelance design work.

This pair of cakes was for two playgroup pals having a joint birthday celebration. Sophia’s cake was chocolate with raspberry mousse filling and whipped cream icing. Gavin’s cake was banana cake with chocolate mousse filling and whipped cream icing. We also created a set of fun mini cupcakes to go along with the cakes. The celebration took place at Nightingale Music School in La Jolla, CA.

We got a request to create our classic baby shower cake in the colors of the shabby chic baby’s room – shades of pink, raspberry and green.  Cake was ordered by the grandmother to be for her first grandchild. Congratulations Bonnie!

Princess and Frog Cake

A very girly cake for a princess and frog theme party.  Fondant wand and crown with edible jewels.  Cute frog cupcakes with a hot pink smile.  Cake and cupcakes are vanilla with vanilla buttercream frosting.

Winnie the Pooh 1st Birthday Cake

We created this Winnie the Pooh cake for little Gia.  She was celebrating with friends at a local splash park so her parents thought it would be fun to create a cake where Pooh was having a splash himself.  The Hundred Acre Wood gang are heading into the woods to their favorite watering hole.  Mom requested Gia’s name at the top of the cake.   Vanilla cake with strawberry buttercream and chocolate cake with raspberry buttercream.

Twilight Cake

Cake inspired by the popular book series for a girl’s 15th birthday.   Fondant chess piece, red ribbon, apple and a picture of Edward and Bella.  Customer requested a red interior…of course.  Red velvet cake with raspberry filling.  We made coordinating vanilla cupcakes iced with vanilla buttercream frosting.

Rock climbing cake for a set of twins celebrating their 7th birthday at Solid Rock Gym.  The cake featured the birthday boy and girl along with their little dog peaking out from a backpack.  They chose a confetti cake (vanilla cake with sprinkles in the batter) with vanilla buttercream filling.
